We’ll where do we start in these challenging times?

We’re following government guidelines and making sure that both us and our equipment is clean – very clean!

Where possible we are gaining access to properties via gates so that we minimise contact, we are also asking that you provide your own pens when signing our paperwork.

Since returning to work after the Christmas and New Year period we have been very busy – we have been doing many, many cat flap installations in new glass units. We are seeing a rise in the new Composite framed doors, our installer is very knowledgeable and fully understands how this type of installation works.

We are also noticing that we are getting more enquiries regarding installing cat and dog flaps into walls.. unfortunately we don’t do this type of work.

For those of you who are interested in installations into glass and how this process works:

  1. Step 1 - Is when we come out and do the survey– we take the exact measurements of the glass unit (width x height x thickness).
  2. Step 2 - We cut the new glass unit at our factory and send it off to the toughening plant – this is where they turn the glass into safety glass. This process usually takes around 4 working days.
  3. Step 3 - When the toughened glass is ready, we then make the glass unit up – we cut the spacer bar to the specified size (this sits inbetween the 2 pieces of glass) this comes in various colours such as silver or bronze and also energy saving) The spacer bar is filled with a product called dessicant, which basically removes moisture from inside the unit. The glass and spacer bar are all dealing with hot melt and the new unit is cleaned down, ready for installation.
  4. Step 4 - The installation takes place 1-2 week after the survey

We have a busy week in the London areas, with 3 installations into door panels, 9 cat and dog flap surveys for installations into glass and 4 new reinforced door panels – these are ideal for customers who are renting properties as they retain the original panel, and this can be reinstalled when their tenancy is over.
